Sorry for the late reply, but still the New Year.

We can only hope that things will be better and some of the worlds problems get sorted out.

All the best to you as well Rysiu.

Thanks, but I was not asking what Gridcoin is, I was referring to this line in the opening post

We plan to integrate the iThena.Computational project with GridCoin.

To integrate is to join, so I would like to know how that is going to proceed.

Thanks

So is this going to be a GridCoin thing now?
Or is it mainly for the hosting of the project?

If GridCoin, can you please explain how it will work as I don't do GridCoin and don't follow it.

Thanks

All my uploads have just now finished uploading.

What was the issue that took a week to fix?

Thanks Rysiu for fixing the problem whatever it was/

G'Day Rysiu,

Can you please let us know what the hold up is with the storage problem on this project.

It has been a week now and all work units have passed their deadlines.

No one can upload any work units due to no space on the server to store it.

iThena Measurements is surprisingly is running with just a few server full messages but these get fixed.

It is not getting fixed on this project.

Thanks

Still can't upload any work.

Disk still full.

Work units have now passed return date.

We are scheduling project outages from June 10, 2022 to June 12, 2022.

These will be temporary access issues.
Sometimes these interruptions may last a few hours at most.

The downtime is related to upgrades (frequent problems with hard drives and storage on the iThena.Measurements platform).

Thanks for your work in making things run smoother, less problems for you and us.

My 32 Core Windows machine...

I don't see any 32 core Windows PC's with no tasks on your account.
I see a Linux PC #662 but that is a 64 core with no credit... Last contact 17 Jan 2022, 5:39:39 UTC.

Have you tried a Project Reset or Detach/Reattach on this mystery machine?
Can you post a link or post the computer number here for this 32 Core Windows PC?

Probably computer ID 556 and/or ID 547, both 32 core / 64 thread computers with no work.

The other ones with lots of work I believe need more memory if all threads are trying to be used at once.
So they either fail waiting for memory, take a really long time to run or don't run at all, or a bit of all that.

Needing up to 650 MB of peak RAM per WU times 64 or 128 threads equals 42 GB needed for the 64 thread machine and over 83 GB for the 128 thread machines, the machines don't have that amount available.
As memory is not cheap, the number of threads being used needs to be reduced that are running work units.
A method for doing this was posted in another thread that I don't recall at the moment.

P.S. Ah here it is to limit cores in use.
But I think Cruncher Pete already knows how to do this.

You have some terrific computers there Cruncher Pete (yes I am a fair bit envious to say the least).

13) Questions and Answers : Windows : Difference in memory usage between 32 and 64 bit (Message 100)

Post:
32 bit Windows only needs half the memory that 64 bit Linux needs (<320 MB vs 620+ MB) so much so I had to stop using one computer that only has a few Megs of memory as it just sat there till the work unit failed waiting.

I find I need to stop the Measurements application then run the Computation application otherwise I get immediate Computation errors. When it is running I can un-suspend the Measurements tasks.

That is strange as I have not struck that issue, both run together on Linux and Windows, at least so far.

Hello.
I attached a Ryzen 7 3700X and an Intel i7-8700k to the project.
The Ryzen is doing fine, getting itself iThena work while also crunching for numerous other Boinc projects.
The Intel has had more errors than successes running just a second CPU project.
stderr tells me this:
<core_client_version>7.14.2</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
process exited with code 127 (0x7f, -129)</message>
<stderr_txt>
../../projects/comp.ithena.net_usr/wrapper_26014_i686-pc-linux-gnu: error while loading shared libraries: libgcc_s.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

</stderr_txt>
]]>

The machine id is 223, and it's running Debian 10.

You are missing a file needed by the iThena.Computational project (libgcc_s.so.1). Install or update that file and you should be good to go.
The Ryzen is running a different version of Linux with a more recent version of GLIBC and that probably has the file that your Intel machine does not.

16) Message boards : Number crunching : Somewhat limiting.... (Message 61)

For a computationally intensive project, 40 credits for six hours of work is a bit paltry.
My 32-bit Linux computer normally earns about 20 credits per hour, so it really deserves to be granted at least 120 credits.

Doesn't the Boinc server software include an automated credit system that is based on work done? Can this be used for this project?

As an aside, when I attached a 64-bit computer to this project, it received a 32-bit application!
My other 64-bit computer was given both 32 and 64-bit versions of the app.

This happens on the iThena.Measurements project with the OONI application, I get both 32 and 64 bit apps.
I didn't worry about it as the 32 bit apps were faster than the 64 bit apps.

I might be a bit ahead of things but just wondering what this project/sub project is all about.

I got a message that my 64 bit Linux computer is not supported so what is?

I will wait whilst you get things sorted, nice to see an expansion on what we are doing (perhaps?).
