We are currently implementing the iThena HEX application. This application is now available for Linux 32-bit and 64-bit platforms. We plan to add support for Windows 32-bit and 64-bit platforms in the near future. The iThena HEX application has quorum=2 (verification by wingman). We will currently stop generating new tasks in the iThena GRAPH application. This application will be modified. Current tasks (also available in the queue on the server) will be available normally. No new tasks will be generated for iThena GRAPH until the tasks are updated. We plan to integrate the iThena.Computational project with GridCoin. The iThena.Measurements project has a lot of problems (frequent storage issue) and on root.ithena.net at this time it is not possible. The integration of iThena.Computational with GridCoin also automatically forces us to improve system availability (the system must be online). So is this going to be a GridCoin thing now? Or is it mainly for the hosting of the project? If GridCoin, can you please explain how it will work as I don't do GridCoin and don't follow it. Thanks Conan |

Gridcoin does not affect the project at all other than asking them to implement a quorum=2 to increase Wu accuracy and eliminate “cheating”. They also require project to be up and functioning and able to produce consistent WUs. If project is whitelisted it incentivizes their crunchers to come to project. There is some information on their website under “project whitelist”. https://gridcoin.us/ There are currently 15 projects whitelisted. |

Thanks, but I was not asking what Gridcoin is, I was referring to this line in the opening post We plan to integrate the iThena.Computational project with GridCoin. To integrate is to join, so I would like to know how that is going to proceed. Thanks Conan |

integrate might not be the best wording and might be confusing. if this project gets whitelisted will pull that stats from the project once a day and incentivize Gridcoin community members for the contribution they make. Gridcoin mainly just brings a lot of computing power to a project. There is currently 2500 active beacon in which most users tend to have >1 machine to crunch with. If you wish to not be a part of Gridcoin then continue crunching away as usual as Gridcoin does not affect your crunching or support for this project in any way. |

Yes, the word "integration" perhaps does not reflect the issue. GridCoin is completely transparent to the project. It uses statistics that are generated by the project. There are no changes "inside" the project here. GridCoin does its job independently based on the statistics. |

Is there an estimated timeframe for new Windows tasks? |

Probably delayed we will have to wait and see :) Once done we can then put up a poll on Gridcoin. |
